Description:
RIP after the November 2019 update, thanks for the support!

Tired of being able to run for hours?
Tired of that pesky perpetual energy flashlight of yours having too much of a lifespan?
Do you miss being able to drown because you left your flashlight on?

Then you might’ve come to the right place.

This addon for Garry’s Mod attempts to replicate the Auxiliary Power feature from Valve’s 2004 game ‘Half-Life 2’.
You know, the game this one is based on.

  • Limited sprinting
  • Limited oxygen underwater
  • Drowning
  • Limited flashlight
  • Half-Life 2: Episode 2 standalone flashlight

Customization includes
  • Toggle the whole system
  • Toggle each feature
  • Toggle between using vanilla flashlight or Episode 2’s flashlight system
  • Change colour of HUD elements
  • Change position of HUD elements
  • Change rates of energy consumption and recovery globally
  • Change rates of energy consumption and recovery per feature

Additional content
  • Support for H0L-D4: Holographic Heads up Display (now supported natively by that addon)
  • Support for GoldSrc HUD (now supported natively by that addon)
  • Support for H.E.V Voice + Additions

Have fun!

F.A.Q

Will this work if I go to a server?

  • Only if they have the addon installed.

Where are the options?

  • Q menu > Options > DyaMetR > Auxiliary power for client-side only options.
  • Q menu > Utilities > DyaMetR > Auxiliary power for server-side only options.

How can I enable the flashlight?

  • Go to the server-side settings (read the question above to know how to get there).
  • Tick the ‘HL2: Episode 2 flashlight mode’ check box.

I can’t see the flashlight icon properly! What can I do?

  • Uninstall ‘HalfLife2.ttf’ from your system fonts. Or install the version that comes with the addon.

I don’t stop running/I won’t drown/flashlight won’t turn off after the Aux. Power reached 0%

  • It’s an addon conflict. In some cases it may have to do with an addon of a similar purpose. In case it isn’t, report to me what addon could be causing it.

The Aux. Power/Flashlight meter won’t go down or regenerate

  • Please, read twice the settings to know what each option does. In case you don’t know what you changed, and the addon does not behave how you expect, press the ‘Reset to default’ button.
