Description:
Faster Embarking

Mod version: 1.0
For Crusader Kings III v1.6.*

What is this?

Faster Embarking is a very simple tweak to reduce the time it takes for armies to embark, from the vanilla value of 30 days to 15 days. The vanilla value for disembarking (10 days) feels alright to me, so I have not modified it.

Why?

As far as I’m aware, there is no in-game way of reducing this, be it thorugh commander traits, perks, or anything else. This can really screw you up, especially when raiding large realms. It doesn’t matter if your commander can cross half the continent in less than a week while they steal everything that isn’t nailed down. They will be steamrolled when king of France decides that chasing you is the most important thing he can do with his 35,000 troops, because your raiding party of 400 guys takes an entire month to jump into their longships.

The new embarking time is too short/long and I don’t like it!

Take a look inside the mod folder and tweak the values to your liking 😉

Is this compatible with Ironman/Achievements?

It works just fine with Ironman. It is, however, NOT compatible with achievements.

Is this compatible with [insert another mod here]?

Probably.

This mod does not overwrite any vanilla files, and only changes two game defines. If the other mod overwrites common/defines/00_defines.txt this one might not take effect, depending on load order and other weird crap. But if the other mod overwrites 00_defines.txt completely, you probably shouldn’t be using it anyway since there’s no reason to do that when you can use your own file like I’m doing here.

A new patch came out and you need to update this!

This mod is extremely simple and thus pretty unlikely to ever conflict with newer patches, unless Paradox makes some significant changes to how the game works. I’ll keep an eye out anyway, but it’s probably fine.
