Description:

What this mod does is very simple: It "shaves off" the collision boxes of all base-game fences a little so they can be placed against walls or blocks when the rotation is correct.

The side-effect of that is that if rotated fence segments are placed next to each other, 1-block wide passages might occur on the middle of the fence, invisible due to the models being longer than their actual collision…

Using "Movement Modifier Shapes" – the same mechanism used to prevent hearthlings on top of tables, for example – a "barrier" is created that will prevent pathfinding from trying to use these gaps… They exist, however.
And not every movement in Stonehearth is determined by pathfinding, some – like the "random idle movement" or the animals’ "running around movement", are simple "move straight" commands that will just get interrupted if they hit something.
Therefore, given the chance, there’s a small probability that ‘lings or animals will go through these fence holes

"Quantum tunnelling is the quantum mechanical phenomenon where a wavefunction can propagate through a potential barrier.
[…]
The wavefunction may disappear on one side and reappear on the other side. The wavefunction and its first derivative are continuous. In steady-state, the probability flux in the forward direction is spatially uniform. No particle or wave is lost."

So, you know the current movie trends, right? Quantum EVERYTHING! Quantum this, quantum that…
Quantum fences!
But hey – that’s just a minor price to pay for your newly achieved architectural capabilities, eh?!

Contents

Fence Changes
All this mod contains are changes to the base game fences (Clay fence, stone fence, wooden fence and ornate wooden fence);
The changes will allow fences to be used against walls/blocks if rotated correctly… But be careful, they might result in quantum tunneling if used incorrectly!

Compatibility

This mod should be compatible with all other mods unless they override the base game fences.
