Pre War “Summer 1966”: The pre war ARNC soldier was fairly ill equipped, due to its neutrality and friendly neighboring countries, the defense budget was small and all soldiers were volunteers.
The Northern Emergency “Fall 1967”: With Central California capitulating to the Socialists, the ARNC with funding from Cascadia went from poorly equipped militia, to a professional army, highly motivated and extremely aggressive. Socialist Soldiers referred to them as “Greenies”, “Green Devils”, “Northies”.
