Description:

What if the Ancient world was still intact? This mod adds a fair amount of historical and mythical ancient content, from ancient Great Works to holy artifacts to the quest for the mythical Camelot. It is not meant to be entirely realistic, as some of the added wonders or artifacts no longer exist or never existed in the first place. However, in my opinion, it adds some interesting content and flavor for anyone interested in ancient history and mythology.

I met a traveller from an antique land,
Who said—"Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert…Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed;
And on the pedestal, these words appear:
My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings;
Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away."

– "Ozymandias" by Percy Bysshe Shelley

DISCLAIMERS:

  • I have many plans for new content, so expect updates! Because of this, I am glad to add in any suggestions.
  • Currently, there are no custom pictures or 3D models for the wonders. This might change soon if I can find enough time to throw some together.
  • As this is my first mod, please be patient with any historical, cultural, or typographical mistakes as well as balancing issues; please report any if you find them!
Features:

***Don’t forget to check the change notes for new additions!***

Event Chains:
This mod contains long and engaging event chains that end with the discovery of the mythical Camelot and the fabled Atlantis. On these event chains, you can find new modifiers and artifacts to make ruling over your realm more enjoyable. If you make sure that you are well prepared and heroic, you might even get powerful blessings and exciting rewards! To those curious, I was inspired by the excellent Legacy of King Arthur mod when making the Camelot event chain.
View the Event Guide(s) discussion for more details on all added event chains.

Great Works (Wonders):
This mod includes historical and mythical great works to make the world a little bit more interesting.
All of the Great Works have been placed in a historical location when possible. Otherwise, I made a logical guess about where they might have been.

Artifacts:
This mod includes many historical and mythical artifacts to improve your character and your realm.
View the Artifacts discussion for a list of all added artifacts.

Version:

Update 1.2 for CK2 v3.3.*

Compatibility:

A new save is required for any new Great Works to appear (not including Camelot or Atlantis if applicable).

This mod should be compatible with any mod that does not alter province files, specifically the ones that the Great Works are located in.
Thus, it will not be compatible with major overhaul mods such as HIP. Check here for a version of the mod compatible with HIP.

Coming Soon:
  • More mythical cities, including mythical places such as Shambhala and Iram of the Pillars! (top priority!)
  • More artifacts! Don’t be afraid to give suggestions!
  • Stonehenge event chain?
  • Bloodlines?

If you have any ideas, suggestions, or find errors/mistakes/balancing issues, please add them to the Suggestions discussion.
If you find any bugs, please report them in the Bug Reports discussion.
