Description:

Here is a mod that takes you on a journey through an alternate universe, where the Norse pagans still have a place in Europe, but staying that way will prove a challenge to most veteran EU4 players.

Historically the "Varangians" as the greeks called them – Were the Swedish vikings who sailed down the Kievan river to the Black Sea and came in contact with the Byzantines. These fighters were enrolled into the the Byzantine army as early as 874 AD.

The Varangian Guard was nothing more than a memory in 1444, but as previously stated – "An Alternate Universe".

*After the sacking of Constantinople in 1204 AD, the Byzantine emperor declared war upon Venice and those who aided the grand Doge. With the Varangian Guard at his command he conquered a good portion of northern Italy and granted these lands to the Norse to rule over. Once word reached Scandinavia of their success, immigrants flocked to Norse Italy. Where they found themselves met with great hostility due to their heathen ways… There are also rumours that the Habsburg rule over the Empire is coming into question due to the very presence of heathens at their border…*

Apart from adding a nation, this mod also provides you with changes to religions (Norse especially), some diplomacy actions, flavour, missions and the HRE. All in all, it aim to challenge even the most experienced players.

This mod is designed to be played on Hard or Very Hard difficulty (hence the strong ideas). Evidently depending on your own confidence and knowledge of Eu4 mechanics and strategies.

Future plans:- Balance tuning.- More missions.- More events.- (Maybe) It’s own technology group.Ironman compatible = YesAchivements = NoThis mod will only function as intended with the 1444 start, and it may clash with other mods that adjust the same variables.Ps.
