Rulers Expanded:
Why? More impactful ruler traits can pace your game. A combination of good traits could drive even a small nation to glorious conquest, while negative traits can drive your country to instability in different interesting ways. Extra traits mod the game in ways that vanilla does not. Three examples: underground contacts offering you increased rebel support efficiency, the merchant prince trait offering you an extra merchant, and focused diplomat giving you an extra diplomatic relation slot.
Small countries get access to a couple of specific positive traits, while larger countries can fall into disarray through exploitative (+subject liberty desire) or illegitimate (-1 yearly legitimacy) rulers.
What it does:
– Gives every ruler a second trait on ascension to the throne and one extra maximum trait
– Rebalances existing traits, in general to have a slightly larger effect
– Adds 23 new ruler traits to the game, both with positive and negative effects
– Makes it slightly easier to disinherit and abdicate with regards to prestige and legitimacy requirements
– Lowers the prestige hit from disinheriting from 50 to 30
– A few AI tweaks included

– Experimental bureaucrat (-20% adm tech cost)
– Diplomatic pioneer (-20% dip adm tech cost)

POSITIVE
– Rightful Liberator (-5 years of nationalism, -20% core creation costs)
– Naval enthusiast (+10% navy morale, +10% force limit, +20% ship trade power, +20% naval maintenance)
– Military enthusiast (10% force limit, +10% army morale, +20% army maintenance)
– Focused diplomat (+diplomat, +dip relation slot)
– Merchant prince (+1 merchant, +10 merchant power when placed, +10% Global trade power)
– Underground connections (+50% rebel support)
– Stable genius (-25% stability cost)
– Of the people (internal bonuses: -2 unrest, -10% development cpst, +10% tax)
NEGATIVE
– Illegitimate (-1 yearly legitimacy / -0.5 republican tradition, +2 unrest)
– Intolerant (-2 tolerance of heathens, -2 tolerance of heretics)
– Backwards thinker (+20% tech costs)
– Volatile (+25% stab cost, +2 unrest)
– Weak negotiator (merc maintenance +25%)
– Tarnished reputation (-2 diplomatic reputation, -2 yearly prestige)
LARGE NATIONS
– Ivory tower ruler (+20% core creation costs, -10% tax, +.10 monthly autonomy)
– Exploitative (+15% liberty desire from subjects); disabled for the Celestial Emperor
– Doomed administration (+ 4 unrest, +.1 monthly autonomy); after 1600 only
SMALL NATIONS
– A Tall Thinker (-20% development cost)
– Destined for greatness (-25% core creation cost, +10% army morale, 10% manpower modifier, 10% force limit -modifier)

– More polish on requirements for traits, potential for combo’s and/or countersynergy
– More polish and testing on AI preferences from traits
– Special traits only obtainable for rulers with specific idea groups unlocked
