RXMods – Lolthsworn Class – Spider Summoner (DE)
Lolth, Queen of Spiders, was a goddess of cold cruelty and is willing to share her secrets with those willing to devote themselves to her cause.
As a Lolth-sworn spider summoner, you are blessed with the ability to conjure a large permanent spider companion to aid you in combat, and can summon multiple uncontrollable spiderlings which can ensnare your foes with web. You will also learn a number of utility skills to strengthen and protect your spider allies.
Webbing up enemies will be of paramount importance during combat. "Call of the Spiders", a starter skill included with this mod, deals a large amount of damage to anyone standing in web surfaces, and your spiders gain access to "Arachnid Vault" (based on the scoundrel skill "Vault" ) which can be used against targets who are Enwebbed. "Vile Feast" is an alternative starting skill which also requires the enemy to be enwebbed. This reliance on your spiders’ ability to cast the "Spin Web" skill will mean that you need to keep your spiders safe in order to succeed in combat.
1 point in scoundrel and 1 point in summoning is enough to get Lolth to notice you and begin sharing her secrets via her servants placed throughout the world, granting you the ability to summon the large spider, and the smaller spiderlings straight away. From here you can either choose to max your summoning ability to strengthen your spiders as a whole, gaining access to new features and stats at 10 summoning; evenly distribute your ability points between scoundrel and summoning to gain further access to Lolth’s secrets; or go your own route, perhaps maxing scoundrel to become a proficient assassin, or becoming an enchanter to heal and protect your spiders as you traverse the world. Whichever choice you make, your spiders will be loyal allies and will protect you to their own detriment.
The skills will require Scoundrel and Summoning in order to learn them, and are listed below:
Starter:
Summon Giant Spider
Summon Spiderlings
Call of the Spiders
Vile Feast
Novice:
Skittering Frenzy
Volatile Spiderling
Lolth’s Kiss
Dismiss Spider
Adept:
Rappel
Entice (Not yet implemented)
Lolth’s Blessing
Master:
Summon Spiderling Swarm

Generally speaking, spiders have higher offensive stats, but lower defensive stats. The spiders will have a decent amount of damage and access to utility skills, but if left unprotected or if overwhelmed, they will fall quickly. The spiders know a number of skills, depending on the type of spider and your summoning level. The large spider lasts indefinitely, the spiderlings last for 6 turns, and the lesser spiderlings spawned from the late game "Lolth’s Wrath" skill last for 3 turns.
Both the large spider and lesser spiderling summons included in this mod should be compatible with vanilla mechanics and other mods which affect summons generally, such as infusion skills (or summoning the spider on a surface to conjure an infused spider/spiderling automatically).
A full breakdown of the skills known and stats of the spiders at each level can be found at the following link (WIP):

Choosing the starter class will default you to 1 point in Scoundrel and 1 point in Summoning, and grant you a choice of 3 skills from "Summon Giant Spider", "Summon Spiderlings", "Call the Spiders", and "Vile Feast". The default civil ability is Thievery. Default attribute points will be 2 Finesse and 1 Wits. The default talent will be Guerilla. Your default loadout will be finesse gear with two daggers.
The trader "Servant of Lolth" is located near the start locations of each act. She will usually be trying to conceal herself in foliage. Screenshots can be found above.
Forty Joy: Between the beach waypoint and the fight with 2 voildings.
Reaper’s Coast: Immediately north-west of the initial waypoint.
Nameless Isle: Near the initial waypoint by the shipwreck against the coast.
Arx: Just east of the initial waypoint.
Spiders general:
Both the large spider and lesser spiderlings should be compatible with infusion skills and other skills which require a summon target. The large spider is coded as an "incarnate", and the lesser spiderlings are coded as a "totem". Hence any skill which requires a target incarnate will only work with the large spider.
Spiders from other mods:
Several skills require a target to be assigned certain tags. For example, Lolth’s Blessing requires a summon to have the "Incarnate", "Ally", and "Spider" tags. If another mod includes any spider summons, the spiders should be likewise tagged this way. If there are compatibility issues with another mod, let me know in the comments and I will endeavor to get in touch with the author and see if we can figure something out (assuming I cannot remediate myself).
Pet Power Gift Bag:
My mod is currently incompatible with the "Pet Power" gift bag. Running this addon will prevent the vanilla infusions from functioning correctly with my spiders. I plan on including a compatibility patch at some point, but it is not a priority.
Divinity Unleashed:
The "Divinity Unleashed" overhaul by Kalavinka (found here: https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=1953266629) is an excellent mod; however, for some reason my spiders end up with an incredibly low vitality stat. I do not know why this happens, but will look into a fix.
This mod has not been playtested yet, and any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Note that this mod is currently receiving semi-regular updates but my updates shouldn’t break any games. They’ll largely be bug fixes or minor functionality changes, and will not affect content other than my own. I intend to add new content also.
Mod name as viewed in the mod menu is "RXMods – Lolthsworn Class – Spider Summoner".
The mod file is named "RX_DnD_Spells_6eadd433-95c5-4d79-84c7-87f332bb3419".
I am not trying to reinvent the wheel. If something exists in the base game, such as general summoning support, or the "Web" skill, I will not be recreating that. Nor will I recreate any skills or mechanics that exist in other mods.
There are currently no level requirements to purchase skills; although, the higher-tier skills are more expensive proportional to tier. This will be changed in a future update.
This Lolthsworn class does not have any in-game interactions regarding the "Sworn" or "Spider’s Kiss" mechanics despite the naming of certain elements.
