Non-Carrier-Based Chimera
DESCRIPTION
The NordahlLunden J/A-112N "Chimera" is a low-level strike aircraft designed for close air support and tactical assaults. The NQAF comissioned NordahlLunden SE for the design of an aircraft that could carry an adequate payload while maintaining a high top speed and ample range. It compliments the A-41 Puffin with a faster response time, at the expense of on scene endurance and more expensive operating costs. The upgraded Naval spec of the J/A-122 Chimera includes catapult capability, as well as taxi motors and brakes. Unfortunately due to these upgrades, the loss of the central 7th pylon was necessary to conduct carrier operations.
