Overview

What this mod does is allow for players to farm metals. Using the metal trees found on foundry biomes, you can get different kinds of metallic wood. This metallic wood can be turned into bars at the new "Foundry Refinery", for 2 wood per bar, basically giving you free ores.
That’s not the only thing, those metal piles that can be found in foundries can be broken to get Organic Scrap Metal, which can be turned into any bar at differing amounts.

How To Get Started

To get your metal farms started, you’ll need to find a foundry biome. Once you do, you break a metal tree and collect the saplings. The saplings can be put anywhere, so just plant them and you get as much metal as you want. Although please note that the kind of metal the trees are made of is random, it may take a while to get every metal tree for your farm.

Once you pick up any material whether it be metallic wood or organic scrap metal. You can then craft the Foundry Refinery at the tier 3 inventor’s table. Once you craft that, then you can start turning your wood into metal bars.

A tip for finding foundry biomes: on a volcanic planet, if you find a geode or bone minibiome, turn back as there can only be one minibiome per main biome.

Bonus

Due to changes with the woods, the foundry furniture now only requires tungsten bars instead of metallic wood.

Also, the foundry tenant now sells diamond tools for your mining needs if you still need them.

FAQ

Q: Is this mod compatible with FU?
A: Unless I forgot to check something, absolutely, in fact, it works even better with the cloning station, allowing for more saplings. If I’m wrong about this, let me know.

Q: Are you going to update this mod?
A: Unless there are bugs, the only updates are going to be made with new addons for different mods, perhaps a FU material addon is in order.

Q: What is this mod incompatible with?
A: Any mod that changes the plants or the metal piles of the foundry biome as it may screw up the generation of trees or what they drop.

Final Statements

Hello again, Pixelflame here. I’ve been working hard on this one, as well as been doing a lot of testing to make it work. This is probably the most complicated mod I’ve made so far, just by the sheer amount of changes and different things to add. I got this idea from the gem trees from terraria and the general idea of farming mine materials. Hope you enjoy the mod, yeah general author stuff over.
