The story so far:

MMXIX – Aerth 19 begins it’s third world conflict. Task Force 141 is formed.
MMXXIV – Aerth 19 awakens a Mechanoid Hive lying dormant deep within its planet.
MMXXV – Aerth 19 declares world peace and unifies all nations in a desperate attempt to fight back against the Mechanoid Hive. Nuclear strikes have proven useless and have hurt the people of Aerth 19 more than the mechanoids which are immune to radiation.
MMXXVI – Newly registered aerospace company OVID claims to have discovered a drive capable of hyperspace jump and donates all research to all other Aerth 19 aerospace foundations. The company claims to have reverse engineered Mechanoid technology in order to map further galaxies outside of this system.
MMXXVII – Refugee ships designed for hyperspace jumps and long term space flights are mass produced, health and safety regulations are ignored in favour of rushing production. OVID lead scientist Simon Carthage convinces the world leaders to send all refugees into the outer rimworlds due to their similarities with Aerth 19 and significant distance from invading mechanoid ships.
MMXXVIII – Aerth 19 begins evacuations. Aerospace company OVID mysteriously disappears from all public records, including all of their known personnel and research having been destroyed or lost.
MMXXVIIII – Remaining Aerth 19 resistance groups hold back an overwhelming Mechanoid Hive force so that the last refugees could evacuate safely.

5416 – Korina Wasteland Republic is formed.
5444 – The Corps of Drop Pod Rangers are formed within the Korina Wasteland Republic.
5469 – Korina, the capital city of KWR is destroyed by an invading Mechanoid Hive, the republic falls as a result.
5471 – All military units including Drop Pod Rangers are officially disbanded with most of its known servicemen dead or on the run.
5472 – Rumours of a young Ranger named Betty Lester spread across multiple settlements after infamous outlaws turn up dead.
5475 – Rangers are reformed under Chief Betty Lester.
5481 – Aerth 19 ships begin to appear across different outer rimworlds.
5482 – Rimmu-Nation, an intergalactic arms company purchases Aerth 19’s entire catalogue of surplus weapons, equipment and blueprints on how to manufacture them.
5484 – Task Force 141 is the first to be deployed by Aerth 19’s one world government. Their mission is to destabilise the hostile factions by eliminating their leaders to make way for their world’s refugees.
5485 – Task Force 141 opened fire on Shattered Empire slavers resulting in the two factions to turn hostile against each other.
5487 – Aerth 19 refugee ship supplies begin to dwindle. Attacks from foreign ships become more frequent. All units on ground suffer more casualties as their supplies also dwindle and are ordered to rush their objectives to destabilise hostile factions.
5489 – Refugees of Aerth 19 begin settling en masse against their government’s orders by joining outlander unions or turning to piracy.
5590 – With crime on the rise, Rangers are stretched thin as they begin hunting outlaws dead or alive. Grateful organizations begin donating and funding the Rangers.
5491 – Rimmu-Nation signs a deal with Aerth 19 refugee ships, promising to resupply their ships and provide protection in exchange for cheap refugee labour.
5492 – Rimdeed, an interstellar job agency extends its services to the outer rimworlds as a response to Rimmu-Nation underpaying space refugees.
5495 – The Rangers begin expanding with the help of the Shattered Empire, other branches are formed in other galaxies.

5500 – Space refugees of unknown origins arrive.
