W 1971 roku rozpoczęła się produkcja modelu 968. Przedstawiona tutaj wersja to 968M, czyli modernizacja
wcześniej wymienionego modelu (wprowadzona w 1978 roku), która charakteryzuje się m.in. usunięciem bocznych wlotów powietrza na rzecz prostszych kratek, wprowadzeniem zespolonych lamp tylnych, a także wdrożeniu wielu części z samochodów WAZ (Łada/Żiguli). W tej wersji Zaporożec był produkowany do 1994 roku. Wtedy zastąpił
go ZAZ Tavria.

Production of the 968 model began in 1971. The version presented here is the 968M, which is a modernization
of the previously mentioned model (introduced in 1978), which is characterized, among others, by the removal of side air intakes in favor of simpler grilles, the introduction of combined rear lamps, as well as the implementation of many parts from WAZ cars (Lada / Zhiguli). Zaporozhets was produced in this version until 1994. It was later replaced
by ZAZ Tavria.
