Description:

"Fly to Serve"

DESCRIPTION:

– The Norton N-22 SeaSparrow, is a small twin engine amphibian built by the Norton Aircraft Company in the late 1920’s which saw great success as both a private toy for the rich and famous as well as the workhorse of airlines the world over. One of these airlines was the Crown Air Service of Newquay, which initially started with just 3 SeaSparrows on loan.
Their rugged dependability, paired with reliable Briggs 8 cylinder radial engines made them ideal for the short hops between islands and ferry services up and down the coast between beach towns during tourist season allowing passengers to embark and disembark right from the beach.
The SeaSparrow made the Crown Air Service a major player in the airline business well into the 1930’s.
