Rectangular Flags
(This was my first attempt at a graphical mod, and I’m not 100% satisfied with it. I have no plans to continue updating it, but who knows, maybe in the future I’ll remake it.)
Rectangular Flags changes the borders and shapes of flags to be in a 8:5 aspect ratio. Unlike the usual square flags of EU4, this is a shape more commonly used for modern flags seen today, and allows flags of that kind to be better implemented into EU4.
Compatibility: Should work just fine with most other mods, all this mod does is change some graphical files like the frame and mask of nation Coat of Arms/Flags. No gui or gfx files have been edited. Ironman compatible.
Note: To preserve my own sanity, I’ve NOT gone through and updated every single flag used in the game to be in 8:5 ratio, meaning that most flags remain 1:1 and are then stretched to fit the new 8:5 flag window.
Flags that aren’t simple tricolors may look terrible without an update. Some flags have been updated, but nowhere near all.
You wanna make your own mod giving x-nation a wide flag? Go right ahead. I recommend making new flags in 205×128 resolution.
