Northumbria Rail Metro Livery 1980-now
In 1976 the Tyne and Wear assembly and Northumbria Rail begun work on upgrading the Tyneside Electric lines which included the construction
of the George Stepenson Bridge over the Tyne. In 1998 the line was extended to Wearside from Pelaw. and in 2012 the line was extended across state
boundries into Durham and Northumberland along with a new all yellow livery replacing the white-cream twotone.
