Your New Empire

Have you ever thought the Elector Counts are like helpless little babies, or that the Empire doesn’t really feel like an empire?
This mod tries to address that by adding a few features that improve diplomacy and geopolitics to make the Empire more functional and connected. This includes more diplomacy options with Elector States such as military alliances, obtainable through fealty, to coordinate war targets and help with the babysitting, and new relationships between The Empire, their cousins in the Southern Realms, and the colonies, including trade, new diplomacy options, and alliances across the Empire culture factions.

- Adds more diplomacy options with Elector States depending on their fealty: vassalisation (9+ fealty), military alliance (7+ fealty), defensive alliance (6+ fealty), and join war (3+ fealty).
- The player and AI Elector States can now negotiate: military alliances, defensive alliances, break agreements, and join war with The Cult of Sigmar, The Huntsmarshal’s Expedition, and Marienburg and vice versa. The AI Elector States can’t negotiate these diplomatic options with each other.
- The player can now negotiate confederation with Marienburg. The AI Elector States can negotiate confederation with The Cult of Sigmar, The Huntsmarshal’s Expedition, and Marienburg, who can also negotiate confederation with each other but not the Elector States.
- The player and AI Elector States can negotiate vassalisation with Kislev, Bretonnia, The Southern Realms, The Cult of Sigmar, The Huntsmarshal’s Expedition, and Marienburg – the latter three can also negotiate vassalisation with all these factions and each other but not the Elector States.
- At the start of the game regions belonging to The Cult of Sigmar, The Huntsmarshal’s Expedition, The Border Princes, Tilea, Estalia, and The New World Colonies are visible on the map and diplomacy with them is enabled for the player and AI Empire factions.
- The Empire culture’s colony factions The Cult of Sigmar, The Huntsmarshal’s Expedition, and The New World Colonies, have trade agreements at the start of the game with each other, Reikland, The Golden Order, Empire States with ports (Nordland, Ostland, Marienburg), and The Southern Realms.
- The Border Princes, Estalia, and Tilea all have military access and defensive alliances with each other. The Huntsmarshal’s Expedition has military access and a defensive alliance with The New World Colonies. The Golden Order and Averland have military access with The Border Princes.
- Diplomatic relations between all Empire culture factions have been modified to better reflect the machinations of the Empire and its cultural relationships. Some changes include: depending on starting fealty, all Elector States have varying degrees of poor relations with Marienburg (as opposed to just Reikland). Due to trade, the colonies have particularly strong relations with each other, The Southern Realms, and Empire States with ports. The Southern Realms factions have better diplomatic relations with The Empire and each other, particularly Estalia and The New World Colonies.
- Improved Imperial Authority with more levels and benefits. I also plan to make vassalisation of Elector states dependent on your imperial authority level instead of Fealty as the mod is currently.
- The option to liberate the settlements of the Southern Realms if their original owners have been destroyed.
- The option to vassalise Bretonnia, Kislev, and The Southern Realms by conquering their last settlement.
- New dilemmas.
- The features are currently only available for Reikland and The Golden Order however I would like to add the features where possible when playing as The Cult of Sigmar and The Huntsmarshal’s Expedition.
- If it’s possible I would like to add The Cult of Sigmar and The Huntsmarshal’s Expedition to the electoral machinations system as Elector Counts like the rest of the Empire factions.
- Only works when starting a campaign from the beginning and is not save game compatible.
- Should be compatible with any mod that doesn’t edit the wh2_dlc13_empire_politics.lua file.
- If Mixu’s mods or Immortal Landmarks is not working with this mod, try moving this mod above those in the load order in the Total War launcher.
- This mod also fixes the vanilla bug which prevented the player from confederating with The Cult of Sigmar.
- When playing as the Golden Order, your military access agreement with The Border Princes is not visible but it is still there.

This is just the beginning of this mod and I hope to add the planned features over time – suggestions for features are welcome. This is my first mod so you’ll have to bear with me in terms of my ability to fix issues and add features. If anyone wants to collaborate on this mod or knows how I can add these features and bugfix then please get in touch as I’d be very happy for that to happen! Thanks. Hope you enjoy.
