Improved Grass – increased draw distance / LOD
This mod increases the draw distance of grass in battles – a side effect is that it also drastically reduces the pop-in when moving the camera.
The campaign map also uses some of the grass / foliage models, so that’ll be affected by this mod too.
Probably some, although I didn’t notice anything too drastic. You’re still effectively rendering more polygons on the screen though, so if many people have issues I can perhaps look into making a lighter version.
Should be compatible with everything that doesn’t touch the grass models.
1. I still notice some pop-in!
This may happen – I doubt it’s possible to remove the pop-in entirely. If it’s the same as vanilla WH2, however, leave a comment below stating which map is being affected and I can take a peek.
2. Can we reduce the fade-in at larger zoom out levels?
Not sure, we may have to really increase the LOD but there may also be something in-engine that does the fading. I don’t think it’ll look very good either way.
