Sisters of Slaughter Rework – Dance of Death
This is a rework of the Sisters of Slaughter (Sisters) unit. The primary focus of this rework was reintroducing the Sisters’ Dance of Death ability from Table Top (TT). See the image above for a full description of the table top rules.
Reduced the MD of the Sisters by 20 so 57 to 37 and added the Dance of Death (DD) ability. DD adds a 30% ward save while the Sisters are engaged in melee. With their base 20% physical resistance this adds up to a 50% resistance to non-magic enemy attacks.
DD is a very small adjustment that protects Sisters of Slaughter during their aggressive charge animations as well as from heavy charges by the enemy. It also gives the Sisters a modicum of defense against magical attacks and missile attacks while engaged in the swirl of melee. This mod was very carefully crafted not to change the existing standard match ups.
Poison has also been removed. Sisters did not have poison on TT. Poison has been replaced with Discourage! Discourage represents the lashings, anguish and the disruption that Sisters cause dancing through enemy ranks in their infamous Dance of Death.
After removing poison, health per model was increased to 84, which is the standard health for elite Elven infantry. See above unit card for increased health details.
Increased the shield deflection back to 35%, because they have actual shields.
Increased the reliability of Trial of Blades by adding another activating condition, ‘if leadership is below 50%.’ Also, added +5 normal damage to the Trial of Blades, so it’s a more standard +9 Melee Attack and +9 Weapon Strength.
In this Dance of Death rework, Sisters of Slaughter have become more intimidating (discourage) and lost some of their stickiness (poison). Overall power level unchanged, but the Sisters should be more reliable when used offensively. The Discourage! on hit effect is a powerful debuff to use against weakened or low leadership enemies. These changes reward active game play.
