Stadler FLIRT Nordic (Type 74/75)
EMU Regional Train for Winter Conditions
The FLIRT Nordic is a variation of Stadler’s FLIRT line that was specifically designed for the harsh Nordic climate. They were built for the Norwegian NSB (now Vy), and the Swedish MTR Express starting in 2010. The Type 74 and Type 75 trains are electric multiple units that draw power from an overhead catenary. Like the base Stadler FLIRT models, they come in low-floor and high-floor variations. In 2020, Stadler started constructing the Type 76, a bi-mode version of the FLIRT Nordic for routes requiring diesel power.
