PKP Class ED161 "Pesa Dart"
Pesa Dart EMU for PKP Intercity. The type is a long-distance multiple-unit with a design speed of 200 kph and a 160 kph operational speed. A high speed variant was also offered by the manufacturer, but no orders for that were placed. 20 units of the regular variant were delivered, an option for 10 further was not realised.
In the mod, each 8-car unit has a capacity of 480 PAX, the car count is variable between 6 and 10, for 328-632 PAX, including a restaurant car. Two units can be coupled. The theoretical high-speed variant (250 kph design speed, 230 kph operational) is also available, with TSA TMF 50-33-4 rather than TMF 50-29-4 traction motors for a total of 3600 kW rather than 2400 kW.
