Stadler Variobahn
Low-floor Tram
The Variobahn line of trams refers to several different models, manufactured by many companies throughout history. This mod is based on the only Variobahn model not designed for a single system. Stadler began manufacturing this model in 2009 for newly formed Bergen Light Rail system (Bybanen). The same base design was later used for London Tramlink trains in 2011 and most recently for Aarhus Letbane’s entire fleet in 2017. This modular Variobahn tram is 100% low-floor and can vary in length between 3, 5, and 7 cars, all with open gangways.
These Variobahn trainsets are not design with couplers, therefore they cannot be joined to create longer trains
