Features
  • A alternative way and reward for defeating the Viper King.

Note: there might still be bugs and oddities here and there. If you think you have spotted one, please report them in the comments.

Regent Class

A Unique class that focuses on commanding a personal group of soldiers he can summon at will, as well as buffing them as well as his team at a lesser degree.

The regent starts off with 3 actions per turn, compared to the usual 2 per turn other soldiers get, and can equip almost any weapon available to XCom, as well as a tree dedicated to improving his ability in using each weapon type

He also has a skill tree dedicated to improving himself and his survivability in the field, and affecting the enemy team as well.

Note: The Regent wont have access to his spits or pull unless he has his unique M.A.W. equipped.

How to begin

To acquire the Viper King as a soldier, you simply need to fight the Viper King as you normally would until you would be able to kill him. Instead of dying outright, he will be knocked out, and if you manage to successfully finish the mission (If it’s not an evac mission) you will gain him as a captive (Note: If you wish to simplify not acquire him as a captive, he can be finished off while he is knocked out, recovering his corpse instead.) Once that’s done, it’s a simple matter of using the Interrogation Facility to recruit him, and you’re done!

Or, if you are impatient, in the mod’s XComGameData.ini, you can set StartWithRegent to true to begin a campaign with the regent in your barracks, and for those who don’t want to bother starting a new campaign or defeating the King, you can use `AddRegentToHQ` command to add him to your barracks that way!

Requirements

This mod depends on Allies Unknown Redux Species: Vipers and Viper Animation Depository for all of the Regent’s animation and some of his abilities functions. Without it, your game WILL crash on startup or straight up not function.

Interrogation And Recruitment is also mandatory, as otherwise you can’t capture the Viper King to begin with, thus preventing you from ever obtaining him to begin with (Also it might CTD on start up without)

Requires [WOTC] LW2 Classes and Perks for the Brigadier rank, and for some of the perks the Viper Guards use. [WOTC LW2] Classes Perk Pack might also work, if you don’t want the LW2 classes.

Compatibility

If enabled, the Regent is added in a similar way to Jane Kelly, Torque and starting SPARK, and can run fine with any of them enabled from my testing.

If running RPGO, do NOT use CPS with this, Your game WILL fail to load if both Community Promotion screen/New Promotion screen by default and RPG overhaul are run at the same time!

Cooked Assets

This mods content files are cooked, Meaning smaller file size and better performance when loading packages from this mod! Due to this however, the cooked content files cannot be opened in the UDK, thus, here[drive.google.com] is the link to the uncooked mod contents if you wish to use them.
