Aero’s Locust Expansion Mod
Important Note: Anybody new checking out this mod, I recommend you to download the Abyss++ mod instead of this one. Reasons why:
- Abyss++ has its content mostly finished. I don’t have the motivation to finish the rest of this one.
- Abyss++ is based off of this mod, so you would be getting a similar experience as what this mod intended to become.
- I am now friends with the creator of the mod, so there are no hard feelings and I’d rather support their mod due to its higher quality. + I do some help with the mod behind the scenes anyways.
Hopefully this note makes sense and you guys check out my other things… if they ever release, haha. I appreciate the support I’ve gotten on this mod for the past year it has existed.

Another mad lad has decided to expand on the locusts from Abyss (and by association, Tainted Apollyon)!
This mod sets out to heavily expand the locusts produced from the Abyss item. Like the locust expansion mod made by Revvy, this gives many items a graphical or gameplay related upgrade to their locust. With this mod, you might actually consider abyss-ing powerful items like Brimstone, Clear Rune, and even Dark Bum!
As of right now, all Rebirth items have a unique locust. Updates will come out periodically to give locusts for the rest of the items, and to balance said locusts so they feel like they fit like a glove into the game. My goal is to turn Abyss from a simple gimmick to an expansive item like Book of Virtues.
All of the locust effects are listed in a .txt file in the mod and this pastebin:

Incompatibilities:
Revvy’s More Locusts Mod: This mod will take precedence over the other, but nothing else should break otherwise.
im_tem’s Locust API + Locust Pack: Abyss-ing a locust that has an effect on both mods will merge them together.
RGB Tainted Apollyon Mod: Locusts will work as intended but the color shifting will be inconsistent on non-red locusts.
