After the End – California Immersion Pack
Note: This mod is for AtE version 0.4, and will likely not be updated, because 0.5 improved California and added most of what I did.
This mod does a handful of things:
First, the simple stuff:
If you are the Emperor of California, it allows you to vassalise the Hawaiian Guard.
I feel like if Yudkow was able to do this, a usurper should be allowed to as well.
Second, as a figurehead Emperor, it is cheaper to reassert Imperial Authority.
I feel like as it stands, you’re more likely to completely conquer California before you are going to get enough piety to reassert with 80 provinces.
Next, the interesting stuff:
Instead of tying the creation of the empire to control of 80% of California, as is standard, it is tied entirely to whether or not you control the county of Sacramento.
As such, if you are the Emperor, you are allowed to freely revoke the county from any vassals that hold it, but, if any valid Cetic holds the county, they can instead declare themself to be the new Emperor.
Lastly, if the Empire of California falls, for whatever reason, any Cetic ruler may lay claim to the county of Sacramento, with the intention of declaring a new dynasty to reunite the warring country.
Hopefully, with all of these changes, California should be just a little bit more interesting, and just a little bit more fun.
This mod does change afterend_decisions.txt and california.txt in the decisions folder and landed titles folder respectively, so by definition will not be compatible with any other mods that also change this.
