Dodge Charger modified to look like a drag racer. This Restomod is a modern, technologically enhanced version of Wally Elder’s legendary "Pro Street" custom Daytona.
The engine, a V8 2-carb OHV Supercharged, was chosen for its massive intake. The hood was removed to increase the engine size and power output to 1,300hp. With tuning, it can become a monster machine with over 2,500hp. Swapping to other older V8 engines is also possible.
Although the engine is old, the peripherals have been updated with the latest equipment, and an ECU and ABS have been added. The exhaust has been changed to a vent to the side of the chassis. Two fuel tanks, one for gasoline and the other for methanol, are mounted at the rear of the vehicle, and an auxiliary tank for fuel switching is mounted on the front cooler.
The front wheels were made thinner and the rear wheels were changed to extremely thick slick tires. The vehicle height was lowered significantly and the rear was raised slightly. The front suspension has been changed to a strut type and the rear to a rigid axle type. Brakes are disc type.
Body parts are Daytona style with long nose and high rear spoiler. The side windows were removed, and the bare interior with roll bar and bucket seats emphasizes the rugged racing car look. Inside the driver’s seat, the gearbox and driveshaft are exposed.
The car has high output and a high top speed, but its low height makes it vulnerable to bumps, so drive with caution. Although it is a racer style car, it can be driven on public roads. This Daytona is a muscle car with maximum emphasis. Have fun with it!

Dodge Chargerをドラッグレーサー風に改造しました。Wally Elderが手掛けた伝説的なDaytonaのカスタムカー"Pro Street"を、現代の技術で強化したRestomodです。
エンジンはV8 2carb OHV Supercharged、巨大なインテークの見た目を重視して選択しました。ボンネットを撤去してエンジンを大型化、出力は1,300hpに増強。チューニングすれば2,500hp以上のモンスターマシンとなります。他の旧型V8エンジンへのスワップも可能です。
エンジンは旧式ですが周辺機器は最新装備で刷新し、ECUとABSを追加。エキゾーストは車体側面への排気に変更。車体後部にガソリンとメタノールの２種の燃料タンクを、前部冷却器には燃料切り替え用の補助タンクを搭載しました。
前輪は細くし、後輪は極端に太いスリックタイヤに変更。車高を大幅に下げ、後部を少し持ち上げました。前部サスペンションはストラット式、後部はリジッドアクスル式に変更。ブレーキはディスク式です。
ボディパーツは長いノーズと高いリアスポイラーが特徴のDaytonaスタイル。サイドウィンドウは撤去し、剥き出しの内装にロールバーとバケットシートで無骨なレーシングカーらしさを強調しました。運転席内にはギアボックスとドライブシャフトが露出します。
高出力で最高速度は速いですが、車高が低く段差に弱いので運転は慎重に。レーサースタイルですが公道も何とか走れる仕様です。マッスルカーらしさを最大限に強調したDaytonaです。楽しんでください。
