Krasnorus National Police

The Krasnorus National Police mod is one of two factions of the Krasnorus Forces Project. KNP depicts the two main Law Enforcement agencies in Krasnorus – the National Police and the National Investigation Service.

Both Factions have been formed on the basis of their former Soviet predecessors, the MVD KraSSR and the Krasnorussian branch of the KGB, respectfully. However, both agencies have changed drastically since then, forming into respectful LE and National Intelligence Agencies.

The Krasnorus National Police was formed on the basis of the Soviet era Militsiya. When the Soviet Union dissolved, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the KraSSR and it’s services were transferred to the Republic of Krasnorus.

Besides Militsiya, the Krasnorussian SSR MVD contained the following, non Militsiya branches:

• Passport and registration offices,
• Internal Troops and prison administration,
• Fire and rescue service.

Since independence and before the 2006 Constitutional Reform, Krasnorussian Minister of Internal Affairs was directly subordinate to the President of Krasnorus, also a formal member of Krasnorus’ Cabinet of Ministers. Before the Constitutional Changes, only militsiya Generals (not civil statesmen), could become appointed Ministers.

The Krasnorussian Militsiya had a significant record of law violation and human rights abuse. The most notorious case being the murder of a prominent opposition leader Alexandar Poltorak and a string of Bank Robberies associated with the OMON Troops.

After these events, a process of reorganisation started. In the span of 3 years, from 2007-2010 the Transformation of of the Krasnorussian Militsiya into the Krasnorussian National Police has been finalized.

KNP was officially formed on February 14th, 2010 with the first 1000 Recruits being sworn in. The serving Militsiya Officers were placed under a temporary, probation status. They were eligible for recruitment as National Police officers, if they met the age criteria and after "integrity" checks, went through training again.

One of the first problems, that the KNP faced was the dissolution of OMON units. Once the OMON troops were disbanded, a new Rapid Response Unit was formed. Initially designed as a group of Patrol Officers, who were able to respond to high risk situations, it grew slowly to a Professional, full-time Special Weapons Unit.

The formation of KNP showed successful results, receiving approval by other international agencies and the Krasnorussian population.

The National Investigation Service (Krasnorussian: Национальная Служба Расследований, НСР) is one of the two National Law Enforcement Agencies in Krasnorus. NIS is serving as the main Intelligence and Security Agency alongside their Military Intelligence counterparts.

NIS was formed on the basis of the Committee for State Security of the KraSSR, using the officers, who have swore their allegiance to the Republic of Krasnorus. It was formed on September 27th 1991, after the parliament approved the "Law on the National Security Services". The very same law in effect, disbanded the Committee for State Security of the KraSSR.

Initially, the NIS used the same structure as the KraSSR’s branch of the KGB, but overtime some services like the Border Guard, have been transferred to the Ministry of Interior.
Currently the NIS Structure looks like this:

• – Counter-Intelligence Branch
• Regional Departments
• Counter Terrorism Directorate
• – Counter Terrorism Unit "Alpha"
• Professional Development Directorate
• – The NIS Accademy
• – 3 Professional Development Centers

Due to it’s (Counter) Intelligence and Counter Terrorism duties, Agents of NIS are mistakenly seen as members of the Armed Forces. However, NIS agents conduct their operations outside the Chain of Command of the Armed Forces and instead only respond to the Minister of National Security and the President of the Republic.

Well, I forgot to make a cool photo for this, but still 🙂

This project has been through a lot, when I’ve started to develop it, I was a literal child and the quality of the mod showed it. Max knows how much trouble I caused and how difficult it was to work with me.
That’s the reason for the 3 year delay between the initial Release of the Krasnorus Armed Forces mod (To Be Updated SOON with a major revamp) and this mod.

Honestly I don’t even think that I would have finished this if it wasn’t for a massive content dump of the PRACS team motivating me to do something I planned to do back in 2019.

I also once again want to thank Max, for being a part of my life. He spent 3 years of his life coping with my excuses, making patches, edits et cetra for this project and always being helpful. I could’ve never wished for a better friend and a colleague (boss, senior partner) on this journey.
