Papal coronation: a catholics mod
Updated for 1.7.* patches.

Now ask for gold and claim title interactions are completely revamped.
8 years of cooldown. New modifiers: opinion with pope less impactful, if u are bankrupt and you are pious enough
pope will help you for sure. Sinful traits less impactful but you wont receive gold if you are a renokwn kinslayer, fornicator or deviant.
This is because you should before ask for indulgences.
if you are friend, best friend or lover of the pope he will try to help your position
If you are at war with excommunicated rulers and in holy wars he will give you money for sure. (For spanish struggle if needed I can change something).
If you are rival/nemesis/excommunicated you will never be assisted. Now hook aren’t an auto accepting tool.
Now if you are a king or emperor you can still claim title with pope. if you are friend, best friend or lover of the pope, claims are easier. If you are rival/nemesis/excommunicated you will never be assisted.
Claim on excommunicated rulers are easier than ever. Opinions for claim are important for 2X. This means it will be more difficult to claim titles for ruler with high opinion with the pope
Now tier difference is fixed. Claim title with a difference >=2 will be tough, in particular if you rank up
Other religions using these interactions will be changed as well. Mod isnt compatible with other mods who changes
this vanilla feature.
Each indipendent kingdom and empire in this mod can interact with the pope, not only HRE. Now:
1) all catholic kings and emperors can go to coronation. Your Vassals will ask to do it when you gain for the first time a kingdom or an empire as indipendent.
You can give money or u can crown yourself spending piety (rivalring pope). You can coronate just a time in a life and after that noone will ask to you to crown again
Now also indipendent duchy can ask to pope coronation (see norman duchy in italy) but at the moment there is no malus if you dont want to coronate as duchy.
2) If u dont ask coronation, malus will be heavier and u will have a great bonus with orthodox and other christian charachters because you dont recognize the Pope authority
3) Now conoronated bonus is really low and it’s for life.
4) At the moment, HRE will be the most important country. Only hre can abolish papal coronation
5) All catholics emperors can change catholicism fixed temporal election. 😀
Pay attention: now if u imprison the Pope u can change Catholicism without paying nothing ins Anagni style :D. And you will be excommunicated.
6) At the pope’s death everyone will receive a notification and Catholicism will go back to the originaal nomination law.
This is an expansion of HRE mod published some months ago for 1.3 patch. All credits go to the creator for inspiration and oriiginal structure. This is a standalone mod, it’s compatible with everything but not the original mod.
