Buffy
Buffy – The Slayer from The Future has joined the fight in Rivals of Aether! Send your opponents flying with her incredibly powerful blows, while using her Shotgun to keep them at bay and her Hologram to always be in two places at the same time!
NSpecial – Hologram:
Buffy takes off her hat and puts it into the ground, after a couple of seconds the hat summons an Hologram. You can also throw the hat left/right or up when first taking it off.
When the Hologram is active, you can tap NSpecial to make Buffy command the Hologram to attack, or hold NSpecial to save Buffy’s last used move to the Hologram! Just check your HUD or the indicator above the Hologram to keep track of which attack it’s set to use.
FSpecial – Plasma Choke:
Similar to Smash Ganondorf, Buffy dashes forward with a plasma effect in her hand, if she comes into contact with anyone, she’ll raise the enemy upwards and sent it downward into a tech situation! If you connect this move in the air however, Buffy and her opponent will come crashing down, being a powerful suicide maneuver.
DSpecial – Shotgun Thrust:
Buffy thrusts her Shotgun forward and flies with it, hitting anyone in her path with a powerful hitbox! When using in the air, Buffy will instead fly diagonally downwards.
USpecial – Hologram Teleport:
If the Hologram isn’t active, Buffy will simply perform a small hop upwards and be put into pratfall. If the Hologram is active however, you can hold down the Special Button to have Buffy teleport to it, with an extremely powerful blast! If you hit anyone with this blast, Buffy won’t be put into pratfall.
Shooting with the Shotgun: Buffy’s Strongs, BAir and DSpecial all use her Shotgun! After you perform any of those moves, you can press the Attack Button to have Buffy pull the trigger and shoot with the gun! Doing so with DSpecial or BAir will also change her momentum.
Reloading the Shotgun: After shooting with it, you’ll need to reload the gun, to do that simply use UTilt or NAir! You can check her HUD to make sure the shotgun is loaded or not.
Quick Save: When you’re using an attack with Buffy, you can press the Parry/Shield button to automatically save that move to the hologram.
Hitting the Hologram: Both Buffy and her opponents can throw the Hologram around with attacks, the Hologram will always fly the same distance, since it doesn’t have a percentage of its own, it always receives the same knockback.
Moving the Hologram with NSpecial: When holding or tapping NSpecial when the Hologram is out, you can tap/hold left or right to change its directions, you can also hold Down to make the Hologram fall through platforms or fast fall when in midair.
Moving the Hologram with Attacks: Certain attacks will move the Hologram around, like Dash Attack, FSpecial, DSpecial, or better yet, any of the shotgun blast moves!
Stopping the Hologram: The Hologram can also be set to Parry! Doing so will make the Hologram Parry, but also immediately halt all of its momentum.
Hologram Cancel: If you hit the Hologram with any of your moves, you can cancel it by using either NSpecial Tap or Hold at any time!
Getting the Hologram back: If you or the Hologram get parried, the Hologram will then despawn, and your hat will be in its place, you need to go and grab the hat to be able to spawn the Hologram again. If that happens offstage or the Hologram touches the blastzone, you can press NSpecial to summon your hat back from the skies.
Blowing up the Hologram: If you hit the Hologram with FSpecial, Buffy will raise the Hologram and blow it up, in an extremely powerful blast! Which can be hard to land, so make it count
Absorbing the Hologram: You can hit the Hologram with DSpecial to absorb its energy and apply it to your shotgun, thus turning it into a powerful Stun Hitbox!
