(Wikipedia entry)
The Type 2 is a subsonic, vertically launched, dual mission cruise missile developed by Eastern Precision Systems (a fictional company). Capable of combined GPS and active radar guidance, the missiles can be launched against targets on land and at sea. The "Concealed Carry" variant is fired from a 4-cell launcher disguised as a common shipping container, intended for covert use against surface raiders or unsuspecting coastal targets.
(Info)
The Type 2’s are true 3×3, excluding reserved voxels. They carry a medium warhead which can convert most ships to submarines and enemy armor into thin air. The missiles have a maximum range at 15% burn of 6km, good enough for most Stormworks engagements. They can be programmed to top attack or sea skim, and can even "swing-around" for another pass at a target if enough fuel is present (anti-ship only).
As a bonus (or a gimmick), the Type 2 missiles come in a neat, mostly inconspicuous launcher which retains all function the in-game shipping containers have. Theoretically, anything that can ship can anti-ship.
To top it off, a touchscreen-based target acquisition and launch control system are included at no extra cost. It contains two old radar domes and some other microcontroller stuff. Slap the parts where they’ll fit, mind the orientation.
(How to use)
– Ensure the launcher and radome are facing forward in the editor.
– Spawn the launcher. Open it before you launch.
– Input target coordinates via the keypad or tap on the map screen. They work interchangeably. See annotated image for other functionality.
– Change attack mode (tap the button), if necessary. Anti-ship is low-level sea-skimming, land-attack is a high-altitude top-attack dive.
– Tap the associated green number "cell" to launch that missile (reference numbers are written on the launch rails too).
– Enjoy.
(Config)
The missiles have exposed properties which can be tweaked. You could also poke around in their code. The same goes for the launch system. The burn rate can be lowered for increased range, or increased for greater speed (though stability issues may arise in either case).
If you don’t like the launch system the missiles come with, no problem. Make your own. The missiles need a composite input (to the hardpoint) containing [target_x,target_y,mode] in that order, 1-3. Mode is an integer, 1=land attack,2=anti-ship. The only other inputs are an on/off to the hardpoint to launch, and an on/off to open the container.
