Vetterli-Vitali 1870/87
Unified at last, but now with… what is this thing? Why is it so heavy?

*actually 10.4mm
Yep, that’s right, the Italian Model 1870/87 Vetterli-Vitali rifle, made famous from its depiction in Battlefield 1. This rifle is a joint venture by both yours truly and Coutin, a very talented modeler of fine armaments. This rifle uses multiple new systems I’ve been meaning to test out, hopefully you enjoy them as much as I do. This rifle was originally a single-shot mechanism, however in the late 1880s, the military started converting them to multi-shot repeating rifles, these ones holding four shots. They utilized a very interesting clip, pushed into the rifle until the final round caught, the rope on top allowing you to easily remove the clip. They would be further upgraded in 1915 to a six-round magazine and a different caliber. Please excuse the error of the cartridge, I read incorrect information and cannot edit the advertisement. The actual caliber this one is chambered in is the 10.4x47mm round.
New features this mod employs are bullet trails, bullet impact sounds, animated camera stuff, muzzle flash that lights up (in third person), and bullet casings that interact with the worldspace for a very short time. Some of these features are disposed of for the Mac-friendly variant. For further reading, jump to that section.
