The Other Cheek
Tired of being safe and healthy (from an Isaac standard)? Well no more! Pick up this item and become broken and tainted!
Turn the other cheek to get slightly nuked (gain a broken heart) and transform into the tainted version of the character you’re playing.
Now I know what you’re thinking. "aeon you idiot. you fool. you cow on a trash farm. switching to tainted forgotten doesnt give you the soul and tainted isaac straight up crashes 99% of the time" and you would be RIGHT
To amend this, instead of transforming into his tainted form, Isaac becomes ??? upon picking up this item. Vaguely fitting. And following this, a la the cutscene between Dogma and The Beast, ??? becomes The Forgotten, and The Forgotten becomes The Lost. Although it would take a pretty sizable amount of Diplopia or spinning down to get it enough times as Isaac to do that, you can also just start as The Forgotten and become The Lost.
If you’re already tainted, you’ll become The tainted Lost.
Oh, and if you’re already The tainted Lost? Well, you’ll figure it out if you get the chance to.
