Description:

This mod adds Walker & Wollie, the Companions, to Don’t Starve Together. A unique new pet-based character design for your survival enjoyment!

Walker and his canine companion Wollie are a duo designed to share their ups and downs. When Wollie is happy, Walker gets a skip in his step! When Wollie’s down and out, Walker feels his pain. And of course, who wouldn’t want an awesome attack dog to charge into battle with? Walker and Wollie explore the world of Don’t Starve Together, fighting and surviving as a team!

PERKS / DRAWBACKS

-Wollie, the Dog

Wollie is a character with his own health and hunger stats. He makes an excellent combat companion, and has several different states depending on how well-fed and healthy he is:

Happy – Wollie is full and happy! His speed and damage are at their highest.
Content – Wollie is feeling good, and runs just slightly slower.
Hungry – Wollie needs some food. His speed is further reduced and his damage is lower as well.
Injured – Wollie has taken a lot damage and needs to rest up (his health restores slowly over time).
Starving – When Wollie’s hunger reaches zero he starves like a player, taking damage over time.

Additionally, Walker’s status can change depending on Wollie’s mood. Walker gets a move speed and sanity boost when Wollie is happy so they can frollick through the wilderness together. When Wollie is content, there’s no special effect. But when Wollie is hungry or injured, Walker’s sanity begins to drain. Worse if he is both hungry AND injured.

Walker (or anyone else) can examine Wollie to determine his current status. Feed Wollie food items to fill him up and improve his mood! Enjoy the bonuses, but be aware that Wollie is another mouth to feed, and can starve just like a player. Whenever Wollie is very low on health, he will look sad and droopy to let you know.

If Wollie dies (goes to heaven), Walker becomes very sad. He takes a big hit to his current and maximum sanity. This effect lasts until Wollie is resurected. Upon death, Wollie’s skeleton will remain just like a player’s would. But unlike a player, Walker can use a Canine Heart (found at the bottom of the Survival Tab) directly on Wollie’s remains to bring him back to life!

Wollie will attack whatever Walker does, but only if Walker stays close to the fight. If Walker wants to fight without Wollie (to keep him safe from gigantic baddies, for example) he can give him two commands with the right mouse button- "Stay" and "Come". When Wollie is told to stay he won’t engage in any combat unless he is attacked first, and only follows Walker at a long distance. Telling him to come cancels the stay command. Wollie is generally a good listener, but he goes a little crazy whenever he sees a catcoon…

Warning: If Walker attacks Wollie by control-clicking him, it’s a 1-hit K.O. Use this only in the most tragically dire of situations. Be careful not to accidentally target him!

-Special Item – Wollie’s Collar
 
If for some reason Wollie’s bones are lost or destroyed… You can craft Wollie’s Collar. This item contains traces of Wollie’s doggy life-essence. Place the collar on the ground and use a Canine Heart on it just like you would with his remains, and Wollie will return to the world of the living! The recipe requires two silk and one gold, and can be found at the bottom of the survival tab.

-Special Item – Canine Heart

Found at the bottom of the Survival Tab, this item is used to resurect Wollie just like a Telltale Heart. Use it on Wollie’s remains, or his collar if his remains aren’t available. The recipe requires four sticks, one large meat, and 25 health points.

This mod includes custom sound files for Walker’s voice- a dandy trombone.

Walker also comes with completely unique dialogue for every inspectable object in the game. 100% provided by the big man himself. Enjoy his wit and charm!
