The Helios-Module Space Carrier, aka "Sled" is a very large CV/HV/SV carrier designed to work with multiple add in CV modules for various purposes. The overall design of this is meant to act like a space station that is mobile.

Module Support

The ship has 4 standard module bays, 1 drop ship module bay, and 4 CV deployable weapon sentry mounts. Modules are decent sized CV’s that dock in the module bays adding movable function to the ship. For instance, a module could be for production, farming, storage, mining, you name it. With this in mind, the ship can be custom fit overtime for the functions a player wants. Many different modules by many authors will be available on the workshop soon. If you want to make and publish your own modules, use others as examples as they have to have certain specs to fit in the bays, link to the interior, and dock using 1st person LCD guides. If you do make a module and test it, please send me a link here and I will get these all added to a collection of support modules. The drop ship module bay works similar to the other module bays just offset to one side or the other.

Docking Modules

In every module bay, you will see some guide LCD’s pointing to a very specific point. To dock a module, (best if done in 1st person), you first would pull up to a bay and level your self off, then in first person use the cross hair to line up to the LCD indicators and fly into the bay to the front wall. I would also recommend pulling up to the ceiling once reaching the wall. Let off the thrust and the module should be docked. It will now be accessible from the carrier on the interior. Do to an annoyance of the inner bay doors opening and closing, I have them on switches next to the bay doors so they can stay open all the time when a module is docked. Also, each docking bay has 2 LCD saying bay information. The one with a small white decal allows you to set the name on the LCD of the ship docked. The other LCD is for graphics only. When loading a drop ship module for moving HV’s and SV’s to a planet, you would first want to undock it by a hair in the bay allowing you to dock HV/SV’s to it. Like wise when unloading, first move all HV/SV’s from the module to the front hangar or center hallway then dock the module again to the ship.

Combat features

The ship is made of hardened steel, has a T2 shield, 8 flak and 6 cannon turrets, and 320K ammo bay. With that being said, you really do not want to get this ship into combat. I would highly recommend keeping the ship out of harms way as much as possible thou. It is meant as a space station/carrier and not a combat vessel and only has defensive weapons for light attacks.

Stock survival Features

The ship comes with a small crafting area in the bridge area including 1 advanced constructor, 2 small constructors, 1 320K storage, and a 320K ammo storage. It also has a full medical bay (hangar), fridge, cooking station, armor locker, armor repair, crew area, 8 point wifi (covering the entire ship and docked modules), detector, CPU room, starboard and port engineering areas, and a large hangar with central access down the center of the ship to the drop ship module bay (back of ship). Also it includes a warp drive, T2 shield and pentaxid tank. One last thing, the ship has many o2 zones in case of a hull breach.

Notes: In the vanilla version you may notice 4 open XL CV thruster ports. The default configuration is running 4 XL lift thrusters, and 8XL forward thrusters. If you are not planing on landing on planets, you could remove 2 of the lift thrusters and use them instead for forward thrust. Or, add 2 more XL lift thrust (bringing it to 6 total) for planet landings. All other missing thrusters from the RE version were added stock.
