Rorke’s Drift
January 22th 1879 – 4:20 PM
Before the battle, when British soldiers saw Zulu’s forces a lot of them departed from Rorke’s Drift. With the Zulus nearly at the station, the garrison now numbered around 150 men. Soldiers builded defences from mealie bags and biscuit boxes. At 4:30 PM Zulus attacked.
