MWS-B | L40/44M "Sabretooth" 40mm Stabilised Autocannon
Information
The L40/44M "Sabertooth" is a 40mm light weight manual loaded automatic gun designed for usage on ships ranging from small attack boats to the largest of frigates, its purpose is mainly to be a secondary/tertiary armament for the anti-ship/counter-piracy role as well as rudimentary anti-air role. What it makes up for in less damage than the likes of the Mallet, it excels in accuracy & easy-handling.
The L40’s design philosophy comes from requiring modern technology within an old chassis, the L40/44M originally started life as an early 20th century anti-air gun similar to that of a Bofors, however as time has progressed, so have requirements and therefore the L40/44M has been upgraded since with technology of the current decade.
