MK-41 Vertical Launching System （abbreviation: VLS) The US Navy’s MK-41 Vertical Launching System is an advanced shipborne missile storage/launching device. The system was developed by Martin Marietta (later merged with Lockheed) in 1977, the world’s second missile vertical launcher, and it is also the world’s most advanced missile launch system.
