Description:

After the completion of the massive Harston class the Stormworks Transportation Line (STL) felt that they had spent enough on their passenger fleet and began to pay more attention to their cargo vessels. Very quickly, however, rival companies were building bigger and better ships than the line’s Harston Class. The company decided then and there to build a brand new liner that would revolutionize ocean going travel in stormworks.

Introducing the SS Hartwell, a revolutionary liner that would change the future of the industry. Rather than sticking with their usual "manner house" interior style, the Hartwell is the first liner to be fitted with art deco interiors. This brand new, sheik interior decor style attracted the most influential of the traveling public and was an instant success. On top of that, the Hartwell was also an innovation in engine design. Rather than sticking with the steam turbine that was implemented on the Harston class, Anderson Shipyards designed the liner with an experimental diesel-electric engine that was so successful it made achieving a speed of 17.8 knots effortless.

With modernization, however, came the end to the lines older fleet. When the Hartwell was introduced into service in 1920, the traveling public changed forever, thus marking the end of the SS Highclere. Just as the Highclere replaced the Hatfield, the Hartwell replaces the Highclere. Two weeks after the Hartwell’s maiden voyage the SS Haighclere made her final voyage to the breakers yard where she would be scrapped. In her honor, the company named the Hartwell’s observation bar after what was one of the line’s most iconic ships.

She would remain an extremely popular vessel for the duration of her career, consistently selling out in upper class. Several years later she would work alongside the Harmonie in providing a new service on the STL’s main passenger route. Although requiring some extensive engine repairs and modifications over time, the Hartwell continued to serve in this role until the company would file for bankruptcy 35 years later. By that point she had live a long, full and very successful life. Still a beauty to many, she was simply too old to continue in service. When the STL was liquidated, the Hartwell was sold for scrap.

PLEASE NOTE:

– You will need the CREATIVE ISLAND CRUISE TERMINAL in order to board this ship https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1933106435

– Everything you will need is located on the bridge (Engine starter, Light buttons, etc.)

– Unlike the rest of my liners, this ship does not include a lower class section, or an engineering space due to lag / hopeful increased performance.

UPDATE #1:
– Altered rigging
– Addition of light failure during sinking
– Addition of some plants around the ship

UPDATE #2:
– The ship spawns now at pier 3 (you may need to update the terminal spawn). You can board the ship through the shell door via gangway.

UPDATE #3:
– The spiraling problem has officially been fixed!
