Twilight of the Gods
Hail!
This mod sets out to expand the game. Although the mod is already enjoyable, it is still under heavy development. So, you might encounter a few issues. Nothing you wont find on other mods, anyway. So, go ahead and take a peek or give it a drivetest. Let me know what you think 😉
After realizing how this game could be so much more, I laid my hands to work, instead of just giving it a negative review. Many things have been taken into consideration in this mod. The main purpose is to have always something fun to do and, actually, slow down the game, instead of speeding it up and get bored to death. This mod will add a considerable twist to the game and changes the balance and the mechanics of the base game.
Despite seemingly carefree, this mod does take historical plausibility and medieval lore into account. All content added here relies on real historical sources, whether it be an artifact, a chronicle, a law (consuetudinary, oral or written), a drawing, an illumination, a fantastic epic poem or oral tradition. Regardless of the academic discussion on the topic. Regardless of contrasting sources. Regardless of morality, orthodoxy, tabu or controversy. Regardless personal opinions and such. Everything included draws upon real historical sources, here.
It is the sweet result of hard labour, love and many years of study, reading and research. Diversity, playability and balance are considered, as well. Implementation of all these aspects is limited by many technical limitations, such as time, game engine or machine limitations.
»»» Anyway, here are some features & spoilers «««
Reconquista
> Iberian Christians (I’ll consider Andalusians in the future) can engage on a "fossado". These were historical raiding incursions that took place every year. Nobles were to participate in these military expeditions into "Saracen" or Muslim territory or pay a heavy fine, called "fossadeira".
Viking
> Vikings can raise a capital fleet with a flagship.
> Tribal Vikings should now also be able to build the Houscarl training grounds, not just feudal Vikings.
The Matter of Britannia (next update) (Beta phase. Don’t try to enact the Round Table yet)
> Hold a vote to restore the legendary Round Table and restore a new golden age of chivalry.
> The Round Table enables Arthurian events, like the court members beeing tested by the Green Knight, who was so turned by Morgan le Fay. He may grant you boons, if you are chivalrous.
> This renowned council attracts great councilors and challengers.
> You can entitle your subjects as Knights of the Round Table.
> Any drawers out there for proper drawings of the Round Table or the Green Knight? 🙂
War
> Battle veterancy system.
> Adjusted martial education stats.
Religion, culture and government.
> Viking characters get martial and combat bonuses. Improved heavy infantry and spearmen.
> Jews get stewardship, learning and more income.
> Muslims get tech bonuses. Sunni, Ibadi, Shiite have improved camelry.
> Hellenic Pagans characters were ecletic and get diplomacy, martial, learning and combat bonuses. Improved spearmen.
> Hindus and Taoist will get learning. Buddhist already has learning, but gets also diplomacy bonus. Taoist has stewardship, but also gets learning. Jain gets learning and diplomacy.
Law, Societies, Diplomacy & Relations/Interactions
> Unlocks Hermetic Society to all religions. I believe you need the Monks and Mystics DLC for this to work.
> Jus Primae Noctis.
> Interactions: Violate. Enthral (Enslavement for Vikings).
Buildings
> New buildings. Mostly for trade posts and forts.
Please go here to take a look at what’s being planned and implemented. Go ahead and feel free to contribute with your own awesome ideas 😉
