Krabby
The River Crab Pokémon.
It lives in burrows dug on sandy beaches. Its pincers fully grow back if they are broken in battle. If it senses danger approaching, it cloaks itself with bubbles from its mouth so it will look bigger.
Krabby’s claws are strong, but not indestructible. When attacking, Krabby’s claws may lose durability. While they do passively heal, eventually they might become brittle, signaled by the meter flashing above his head. While they’re brittle, landing claw attacks will hurt Krabby, but he can opt to either harden them or break them altogether to avoid the damage. Once the claws have been broken, Krabby’s attacks are weaker, but without the extra weight, he’s noticeably quicker.
Claws intact
- Nspecial — Crabhammer — Krabby’s claws grow bright for a powerful attack. This move will break the claws when they are brittle.
- Fspecial — Vice Grip — Krabby lunges forward to grab his opponents.
- Uspecial — Bubblebeam — Krabby spews bubbles downward in order to send himself upwards. Holding down will slow the vertical momentum, but letting Krabby move at full speed grants a melee hitbox above him.
- Dspecial — Harden — Krabby restores his claw’s durability with this move. Being hit by weaker melee attacks will still damage Krabby, but opponents will receive half the damage they deal. Successfully countered attacks won’t send Krabby flying, giving him an opportunity to retaliate.
Claws broken
- Nspecial — Bubble — Krabby surrounds himself in a big bubble that sends opponents away when it bursts. Popping the bubble can be delayed by holding special.
- Fspecial — Water Gun — Krabby propels himself with a powerful blast of water.
- Uspecial — Bubblebeam — Without the extra weight of the claws, bubblebeam carries Krabby much higher.
- Dspecial — Harden — When the claw’s durability meter has filled, this attack will cause the claws to regrow.
