Moveset

Neutral Special
Starter aims his signature weapon, the Comet Blaster. Can be aimed in 4 directions, and by holding the button you can delay the shot. Can also be cancelled with the shield button.

Side Special
Starter uses 1 of 5 different weapons. The current weapon can be swapped by pressing Parry/Shield while using the move. The different weapons have different uses and consume different amounts of ammo.

Up Special
Starter uses his Airdash ability. Can be used in 4 different directions with some additional angles. The airdash can also be used twice in 2 different directions if the button is held.

Down Special
A command grab that can grab opponents and certain projectiles. If the button is tapped and Starter is on solid ground, he can also pick up a large block. The block can be thrown and hit around, and can take a certain amount of damage before breaking. Keep in mind that if you hold the button, or if you are in the air or on a platform, Starter won’t pick up a block.
When grabbing something you can also press shield to drop it instead!

Super Gear Quest

Starter comes from Super Gear Quest, a Metroidvania which released May 5th, 2020. I developed the game by myself and made this mod in hopes that a few more people would learn about the game.

Extras

– Starter uses an Ammo system. Some weapons will deplete his ammo, and he only gets it back by hitting opponents with physical attacks, or very slowly over time. The Rocket Launcher also use it’s own ammo, as you only have 3 shots per stock.
– If you hold Shield and press Attack a lot during the start of the match, you can enable a special mode which makes Starter much stronger… Use with care.
Although note that this won’t work unless the opponent is holding Jump to allow you to use this mode, or if the opponent is a CPU. This is mainly to prevent people from abusing this feature online.
– Set a Starter CPU to Level 1 for boss mode! This mode isn’t invincible, but Starter will use more of his power!
