Description:
Introduction

Nanyang "南洋" (Southern Ocean) refers to the Chinese term for South East Asia. This mod aims to provide a more historically accurate representation of Chinese communities living in South East Asia in 1836. In the base game, Yue POPs, were over-represented in the region but are now concentrated in the Malayan Peninsula. Hakka POPs are found in Borneo and Malayan peninsula, while Min POPs found all over the region as they were the earliest and most prominent dialect group historically.

Changes
  • Reworked Min, Hakka and Yue POP ratios in Borneo, Dutch East Indies, Malayan Peninsula & the Philippines
  • Population of states unchanged to maintain balance, however ratio of Chinese POPs increased in Singapore, Malacca, & Penang based on Neubold’s 1836 estimates.
  • Ratios of Min, Hakka & Yue calculated based on available historical data
