The Orion VII NG was produced between 2007 and 2012 as a hybrid electric bus for North American cities. One of its prime selling features was a hybrid electric drivetrain which improved fuel economy. These buses are accessible with the ability to ‘kneel’, lowering the floor for easier boarding. A ramp can also be lowered to allow wheelchairs to board. 50 transit companies across the US and Canada purchased variants of the Orion VII, making it an excellent example of the modern transit bus.

In Stormworks, all functionality of the prototype has been replicated. This bus has also been made autonomous-capable, using I Love Yogurt’s Autonomous Bus System (Used with permission). This bus runs autonomously between North Harbour and Holt Town Transit Center.

  Starting the Bus in Autonomous Mode
  1. Ensure you are running the Stormlink Passenger Mod. You’ll need to create a new world to do this.
  2. Spawn the bus at the North Harbour Train Yard
  3. Enter the bus and turn the key beside the front door to disable the door and parking brake
  4. Flip the Bus Communications System Breaker to ON
  5. Turn the Automatic Control Key – If the key cannot be turned, make sure both environmental mods have been loaded.
  6. Sit Back, relax, and enjoy your new ride to the Holt Transit Center!
