GDR "realistic"
The GDR was founded on October 7, 1949. According to Russian sources, more than 3,000 factories in the Soviet occupation zone were dismantled as reparations and brought to the Soviet Union. This made it impossible for the GDR to keep up with the development of West Germany.
By the 1950s at the latest, it was clear that the GDR’s economy was permanently disadvantaged. Many things were missing. On 01.01.1960 Wilhelm Pieck SED, at Moscow’s "request", was replaced as President of the GDR. His successor, a previously unknown SED politician, became the new head of state. From now on you are chairman of the State Council and entrusted with rebuilding the completely idle country.
