Subsistence Overhaul Lite
A balance and expansion subsistence farming. (Compatability version)

The primary goal is to add some strategic depth to subsistence farming, so it isn’t an unchanging backdrop behind industrialization. Many nations had massive land reforms to set the stage for industrialization, and this mod aims to allow the player to follow that path as well by making several changes:
Base Production methods for subsistence farming, including:
Traditionalist methods, lowing SOL in undeveloped economies until they pass economic reforms
Manoralism, an effective method to employ a large amount of peasants, but not very efficient
Tennant Farming, which uses less labor for more output, but is only available after abolishing serfdom
Additional production methods for subsistence farms:
Hunting – allowing nations with either the national militia or mass conscription laws to use small arms during peacetime to improve their peasant’s SOL and produce meat.
Cottage industries – Tennant farmers can now produce some luxury goods, at the expense of more common needs.
SOL in many places is lowered; changes to birth/death rate and events such as the great famine make this less punishing, however.
As a result, starting literacy in most of Africa and Asia is lower as well.
Abolishing serfdom and traditionalism should now be a bit less underwhelming in terms of effects, as peasant SOL can now go from ~7 to almost ~13 depending on PMs and job availability.
