[SOCI] Grim Horizon Lite Redux
This is potentially the first of upcoming mods from me that builds on Covert Infiltration to introduce new activity chains to add more flavor (read: pain) to your CI campaign. This mod changes the feature introduced by Remove Dark Event (Grim Horizon Lite) and make the removal of an active dark event an activity chain. Be warned though: If you are already struggling to keep soldiers available for missions, this mod will force tough decisions on you.
The new activity chain will spawn on a monthly basis. The new activity chain requires you to perform a Covert Action and an Infiltration Mission. The number of activity chains you get every month depends on the number of active dark events and regions contacted. For the more technically inclined, it is Wait -> Covert Action -> Wait -> Infil Mission. Yeah, could take about a month for the entire chain to finish.
- 1 active Dark Event and 1 region contacted: You get 1 Remove Dark Event activity chain.
- 3 active Dark Events and 5 regions contacted: You get 3 activity chains each representing one active dark event.
- 5 active Dark Events and 3 regions contacted: You get 3 activity chains. Which dark event can be removed? 3 will be selected at random.
If you let the chain expire (or you failed the chain), fret not, a new one may spawn next month for the same Dark Event.
Update: There is a change to how many chains you will get – please refer to change log dated 3rd Oct 2021.
Technically, no. Remove Dark Event (Grim Horizon Lite) will force Grim Horizon on you if you didn’t select it when starting a new campaign.
You can change that in Remove Dark Event (Grim Horizon Lite) configurations. This mod takes the Covert Action from that mod.
This mod removes faction influence requirement from the Covert Action. The activity chain itself has faction influence requirement but I have set it to minimal as default. You can change this in this mod’s config.
Sorry this mod did not work as expected. You can use this console command to remove any active Dark Event you desire. DeactivateDarkEvent <DarkEventName>
I recommend you not do that. But if you really want to; if you already running Remove Dark Event (Grim Horizon Lite), it is "probably" okay. No guarantee honestly.
No guarantee nothing will go wonky. You probably still need to keep Remove Dark Event (Grim Horizon Lite).
This mod was thoroughly tested with its required mods, and also Grim Horizon Fix of which I recommend to use along with this mod. This mod respects Dark Events that are excluded from that mod.
