Translated Modules
This mod adds in-game translated "The Button", "Who’s on First", "Password", "Morse" and "Vent Gas" modules to the game.
The idea of e.g. the original “Who’s on First” module is to create funny confusions between button labels and defuser instructions. This doesn’t work if defuser and experts are not communicating in the button label’s language, so this mod is intended to revive this experience for foreign players!
Note that you have to set the language by following the instructions below. If you are reading this from the in-game mod browser, click "View in Workshop" to see the full page!
Supported languages so far (with manual links):
(integrated into fan translation)
- You have to set the desired language first (default is German)! After subscribing to the mod,
- start the game with mods enabled
(If you don’t get a dialog to enable mods on startup, note that you have to defuse at least one bomb after installing the game, before it offers you to activate mods) - click “Mods” => “Mod Settings Folder”
- open “TranslatedModules-settings.txt”
- jump to the line "CurrentLanguages": ["de"]
- replace “de” with the id for your language (you’ll find all available ids in that file)
- quit and restart the game!
- start the game with mods enabled
- If you want to play the vanilla missions with translated modules, select “Missions (Translated Modules)” instead of “Missions” in the bomb menu, otherwise the English modules will be used. Or even better download the appropriate Translated Missions Mod, which does the same, but with translated mission texts. Available in
- If you do freeplay, you should deactivate the untranslated vanilla counterparts of the modules, otherwise both variants (translated and original) will occur. Unfortunately you can only veto three of them (“Options” => “Accessibility”), so I recommend the BombCreator Mod, where you can veto all five non-translated modules ("The Button", "Who’s on First", "Passwords", "Morse" and "Vent Gas")
- This mod replaces “Who’s on First? (Deutsch)”. Don’t install both!
