Description:
This mod will be integrated with SFO in the next SFO update. This standalone version will always remain for those who play different overhauls.

Reworks the ability “Shield of the old ones” present on Slann lords into something completely unique.

The ability is now used to summon an actual barrier that lasts 15 seconds and intercepts all projectile fire in its radius (Yes that means your own too, tough luck)

Since not all magical effects are projectiles it also grants a 50% magic save to units that are inside the barrier. (Your enemies’ units too, tough luck)

This ability replaces the old ability and is available in both the campaign and multiplayer.

Known issues and FAQ

• The barrier is infinitely tall.
Making this mod has been an exercise in hacking away at tables with a woodchipper, I can’t make everything work perfectly no matter what I do here. There were other shape methods I could use to create the barrier, but they all resulted in a less predictable blocking pattern than a simple floor to ceiling cylinder. Sure, I can make it be as tall as the visuals imply, but the hitbox would also become shaped like a cheese wedge, no really, it would.
• Why can I select the barrier?
Because the barrier has a dummy entity that provides the projectile interception hitbox.
• This mod is really bad.
That is not a question
• Why is there a giant marker where the barrier is when I hold space.
Dummy entity again.
