Series 151 EMU
JNR Series 151 trains have been in commercial operation since 1958. Developed as JNR’s first limited express train, it had a structure that was distinctly different from the old nose suspension drive trains of the past, and contributed greatly to the modernization of the old passenger-car-driven express trains.
Limited Express Kodama
The Limited Express Kodama is an express train that has been in service since 1958. Using only newly developed Series 151 trains, it was mainly intended for business travellers and connected Japan’s two largest cities, Tokyo and Osaka, with a round trip in a single day. Today they operate on the Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen lines.
