Description:

THE GIANT

These vessels were created to transport units up to 240 men over treacherous waters. All large transport ships are replaced with these juggernauts. The small transport ships are replaced by their faction related larger versions. I created this mod because naval landings with more than 200 men/unit always separates the units into two divisions having their own barge, wich always gives a lot of problems. Since CA had the splendid idea to put everyone on a small bathtub (peloponnesian transport) the problems only got worse.
This mod should be the answer to the problem with naval landings for my mods ‘AVE_ROMAN_UNITS_150’ and ‘AVE_ROMAN_UNITS_125_150’ (and otherone’s mods). This last one gives you a more realistic representation of a roman legion.
This mod doesn’t change the maximum men per ship, in order to be compatible with other mods. Be sure you have a mod that does give you that opportunity, like my mods, mentioned above.

Transport ship with sphinx: Egyptians, Eastern and Persian.
Transport ship with sea god: Barbarians, Romans, Greeks and Carthagineans.
I have made a difference in transport ships in the mods mentioned above, so the difference is visible. Unfortunately, as already mentioned, CA puts almost every unit on peleponnesian ships and these are replaced by the "Greek Seven", so if you don’t have a mod that changes transport ships to the older types the difference will not be that visible, almost all units will be transported by this "Greek Seven". Nevertheless, it does its duty, so little reason to complain about that.

The first model is derived from "egyptian eight" and, therefore, that egyptian vessel will look the same (sorry, Ptolemaics…).
The second one is derived from the "greek seven" wich also means that this ship will have a differen look (I should say sorry Greeks, but the moddel is improved in certain ways).
I had to do this because the directory "models_naval" cannot be modified. If there is any good soul who knows how to create new naval units without that directory, or who knows how to edit it, please let me know.
The Egyptians and Greeks will still have their naval units, together with the abilities that come with them. Otherwise these are just transport ships with the abilities of the previous models, although I have made some minor changes in mass and hitpoints.

Changes to the "Egyptian Eight":
All gold is stripped to make this ship more genuine, espescially for the less fortunate factions, and it is after all just a transport ship. The bow and stern are now made out of wood and iron. I left the ram in bronze, though made it a more beautifull kind of metal, because iron has the tendency to rust : )
The shields on the sides are replaced with ,one of the most magnificent creations of CA, the iberian caetras. This is one of the most neutral shields and they most definitely do their tric on looking awesome. The shields are now arranged in a beautifull pattern.
The vessel is stripped from anything looking typically Egyptian (I cannot remove the sphynx, thus made her look more casual). The planks with egyptian symbols are replaced with darker woodcarved planks that I ‘ve created.
The white planks in the lower part of the hull are replaced with darker wood (most visible on the stern).
On the top of the streering hut I’ve put some planks I created with rather neutral looking iron items.
Changes to the "Greek Seven":
The bow statue is now made out of bare wood, not paited, and the trident is now made out of iron.
The stern statue is also made out of wood
The ram is still made of bronze, but a much beautifull looking kind of bronze.
All typical greek patterns are replaced by a woodcarve pattern that I created.
The hoplons are replaced by caetras, arranged in a pattern.
White planks in the lower part of the hull are replaced by darker wood.
The coloured planks are replaced by darker wood (except steering hut) to make the ship a little more barbarian.
The steering hut is replaced by the one mentioned for the changes in "Egyptian Eight".
