Invented by Major Hugh Reeves of the SOE,the man responsible for the sten’s silencer and other special operations devices,the Welrod was a "silenced" pistol,created for commandos and resistance forces in occupied Europe.It’s fire sound was extremely weak compared to other suppressors of the time,and it had several features for close quarters firing,like the intake on the muzzle meant to better grip to the body of a target.It was operated manually,primarily because the action moving could make more noise than firing.It was extremely easy to hide,specially when not loaded,as it looked like a simple tube.It was mainly used by Danish partisans and British SOE commandos,although to OSS used it too
